Super Moon:  tonight's back yard
Today we traveled 76 miles on the Pungo River, Goose Creek, Neuse River, Adams Creek, and other bodies of water I can't remember.  It rained intermittently throughout the day and was hot and humid. Fortunately, we were in and out of the rain quickly and didn't encounter any cloudbursts.

Our original destination was to be Oriental, NC and we arrived there shortly after lunch.  Unfortunately, the city dock was full and the anchorage left much to be desired.  There were boats anchored haphazardly and derelict boats amongst them -- not good.  We moved further south to Morehead City Yacht Basin and got a slip there.  What a nice place.  They have onsite laundry facilities, showers, and a convenience store and a few local restaurants within walking distance. They also offer a courtesy car -- 2 hours for $10 which sounds reasonable.

We finished the laundry we didn't do yesterday (towels and linens), bought milk, bread and some fruit at the little convenience store, and had dinner at Floyd's 1921 Restaurant. Dinner was delicious and the dockmaster gave us a card for a complimentary dessert which was scrumptious -- we shared a big piece of chocolate, frangelica, raspberry cheesecake.  Mmmmmmm.

By the time we got back to the boat and situated for the night, the Super Moon was on the rise and I took a few photos of it.  Then we watched Nik Wallenda cross the Grand Canyon on a wire.  I was a white knuckle watching him and was praying right along with him as he did this amazing feat. Thank you, Jesus, for keeping him safe.

Here are a few of today's photos:
